A Great Day To Race Zucchini

In Service, Uncategorized on September 19, 2011 by lifeofaphoenix Tagged: , , ,

Today at the West Seattle Farmer’s Market, the West Seattle Kiwanis Club hosted Zucchini races for the kids in the community.  Little ones were lined up at the Kiwanis tent waiting to choose their winning squash.  Once the Zucchini of choice was in hand, the kiddos assembled their cars complete with tires, wings, flags and wonderful decorations.

Each child then brought their little green car over to the ramp to race 2 other opponents.  Parents, friends and racers rooted on their favorite cars, all having a wonderful time.

It sure was a great day to race zucchini in West Seattle!

West Seattle Farmer’s Market

In Service, Uncategorized on September 4, 2011 by lifeofaphoenix Tagged: , ,

We had a great time at the Farmer’s Market today serving coffee, mocha, tea and cocoa to vendors and market visitors.

We listened to the Canote Brothers, Greg and Jere, singing 20′s and 30′s good old american music while playing their banjo and fiddle.  They are joyous to listen to and it is obvious that they truly enjoy what they do.  Their music gives the market that small town feel that pairs so well with a weekly market.

We also leant out red wagons to families for a little stroll around the market with their kiddies.  We were glad to chat about Kiwanis and life with our friendly West Seattle neighbors who came to visit a beautiful day at the market.

Come see us next week for a hot cup of joe, some jokes, a nice chat and/or a red wagon.  We’d love to have a visit with you!

Thank you to the West Seattle Blog for letting their readers know we would be at the market this week!
